Evelyn Joshua, born Evelyn Akobundo on December 17, 1968, in Delta State, Nigeria, is the widow of the renowned Nigerian televangelist and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B. Joshua. Her father is Nicholas Akobundo, and she grew up in a large family as one of seven siblings. Despite the untimely death of her twin brother, Evelyn maintained a close-knit relationship with her family throughout her childhood.
Evelyn's early education began at St. Emecheta Primary School in Delta State, but she completed her primary education at Orile Primary School in Lagos after her family relocated in 1977. She went on to attend State High School, Oshodi, for her secondary education. Evelyn met T.B. Joshua in 1990 during a visit to her sister in Lagos. They were married for over 30 years until Joshua's death in June 2021. Together, they had three daughters: Serah, Promise, and Heart Joshua. Serah, the eldest, graduated from the London School of Economics and is pursuing a PhD, while Promise is studying international relations and politics at the same institution. The youngest daughter, Heart, is still in secondary school.
Following her husband's death, Evelyn took on the leadership of SCOAN, a role for which she had been prepared through years of active involvement in the church. As a pastor and co-coordinator of the Emmanuel Global Network, Evelyn has continued to uphold the church's mission and expand its reach. She is recognized for her strong administrative skills and spiritual guidance, making significant contributions to the church's operations and growth.
