Salvation
Oga if you will not pay me; give me your phone! Look you this girl, I just told you I can't find my money at least let me do transfer. Shedi was in a very tight corner at this point, and at the edge of becoming the talk of the town, for the next few weeks. Okay let me go back to how it all started.
It was a very bright early morning, very bright I would say, such that you could feel the tearing of your skin, by the claws of this space tigress. Shedi have been a victim to this inflicting terror, and he could no longer bear it; but what can he do? He has to bear this pain, while he was trying to fix the tires of Mr Ojo's car; one of his constant customers of his car repairing job, which he does in a small wooden shop; just two streets from his house, this is where he makes the money he spends; on his usual habit. It took him hours to finally be done with the Car, so he immediately called Mr Ojo, to come get his car. Immediately he received his pay, he hurried to malam Sinu's bar, when he was done downing some bottles of his favorite bear, he decided to take a night worker home with him; so as to give the night some touch of pleasure.
Now it was daybreak, and he had forgotten; he spent all his money drinking at Malam Sinu's bar, how is he going to pay his skin-to-skin accomplice? Look! madam, oya let me do transfer for you, He said, ah oga na today you dey carry Olosho? Where you dun take hear say local Olosho dey take transfer? Abeg, pay me my money! make me and you nor go wear one shirt today, she replied, But I nor get shirt wey go size our two na! He cried out.
By now Pere, one of the town's most popular prostitute was already screaming dirty words; fetching Shedi loads of embarrassment, there was no way he could get out of this with a better reputation.
He tried to free himself from Pere's tight grip on his boxers, after some struggle, which by now the scene has become a Cinema; for the villagers' view, he managed to release himself, and like a scared rat Shedi was out of sight. He ran for his dear life, as the hunter kept her chase on him, but this whole chase was about to end a chapter of Shedi's life.
The whole town that morning, had turned from laughter and humor to Tears and tragedy. Carry him! Carry him! One lady shouted, ewooo! See em skull oh! another woman screamed, Shedi have just been hit by a trailer of sand. In the course of running from a pit; he had fallen into a deeper pit.
If only he knew this was going to happen, he could have just stayed in his house, entertaining the town in shame than running into his own demise.
I know you are asking yourself, is Shedi dead? Well, a good question as expected.
I am also aware that most of you don't or wouldn't believe what I am about to tell you, but then it's my story not yours so keep reading.
“Where are you coming from; this is not your place,” Shedi was confused as the person speaking to him now; was not such he has seen before, so bright and sparky is his apparel.
“But what am I doing here”? Shedi replied; the Angel who was standing right before him, “You are here because, you just had an accident, and this is supposed to be judgement for you, but the Alpha in his mercy, have asked that you be returned; to deliver your purpose" Shedi looked forward and saw a huge gate. “But that is heaven; just there, why would I want to go back to life again”? Shedi replied, the angel smiled and turned to Shedi, “What if I tell you; that heaven is not meant for man, what if I tell you; your name is nowhere to be found in the book of life, what if I tell you; hell is the only place you can get to from here.”
All of a sudden a huge screen appeared, and Shedi was watching all his life being played like a nollywood movie on a screen, he could now see; that life have not been fair to him because he has not been fair to himself, all the time he spent from one woman to another, all the he spent getting drunk and living a disgustful life. He looked around and saw that he was the only person; whose garment was a rag as dirty as that; of a mad man, who have been mad for a very long time.
By now he could taste the salty liquid substance inside his body; gushing out like showers of rain soaking his cheeks, he turned to the man on white and spoke. “Mr. Angel, what if I tell you; I accept the offer”? The Angel replied, “This is not an offer; this is an opportunity, for another chance; so, you could find your purpose, do you hear that voice? That is the voice of mercy and grace, in case you don’t know, grace is getting what you don’t deserve, and mercy is getting what you do deserve.” Immediately Shedi opened his eyes, and it was all a dream, he had only decided to take a rest while he waits for Mr Ojo to come get his car.
Now this was a new beginning for Shedi, it was sure going to be.
