IGP Egbetokun Warns of Foreign Mercenaries Behind Upcoming Protest

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has revealed that foreign mercenaries are orchestrating the planned nationwide protest from August 1st to 10th. He made this announcement on Friday while addressing journalists in Abuja.

According to Egbetokun, intelligence gathered by the police indicates that some individuals are promoting peaceful protests with hidden violent intentions. He cautioned Nigerians to be cautious and think carefully before joining any protest group.

The police boss commended those who have spoken out against the protest, citing concerns about manipulation by enemies of the country. He confirmed that these fears are justified, as credible intelligence suggests foreign mercenaries are involved in the planned protest.

Egbetokun urged Nigerians to exercise restraint and consider the potential dangers of unchecked demonstrations, referencing Nigeria's history of violent protests. He emphasized the need for citizens to be vigilant and mindful of the potential risks associated with joining protest groups.
